Sèvres teapot with bleu céleste ribbons and Armand birds, 1758-60
Height 12.5 cm, width 17 cm, depth 9.5 cm
Ground colours applied in ribbon form are found in the late 1750s. The fine birds are by Armand l’aîné, while the flowers are typical of the style of Louis-Jean Thévenet.
The cover has an apple knop rather than a flower one, and so would seem to be a slightly later replacement made at Sèvres, and with flowers also clearly by Thévenet.
